Description/Qualifications

Salem Hospital, a not-for-profit Level II Trauma facility, is one of Oregon's largest acute-care hospitals, is home to the busiest ER on the West Coast, and is licensed for 494 acute-care beds.

We are seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to see patients in a full-time capacity. We offer a state of the art, fully functional Cath Lab with 7 suites and hybrid OR access. Our Cath Lab performs >1800 diagnostic coronary angiograms and > 500 coronary interventions annually, and is supported by 3 full time cardiothoracic surgeons. The cardiothoracic program performed over 500 open heart procedures in 2019 and 135 TAVR procedures to date, with focus in building a structural heart program. Our Echo and Vascular Lab are ICAL and ICAVL accredited. Our continuum of care includes onsite Cardiac Navigation and Rehabilitation Services, and we have an active ACC registry including a data analyst coordinator.

 

Our patients receive comprehensive medical services through our robust Medical Group of more than 250 providers and 16 specialties, focused on enhancing the patient experience and providing higher levels of care coordination. You may be a qualified candidate if you:

  • Hold a current unrestricted M.D. Oregon medical license.
  • Hold a current unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
  • Have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiology.
  • Are Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the ABIM or the AOA, or must be eligible, actively participating in the certification process, and achieve Board Certification or Special Qualifications within 5 years of initial appointment to the Medical Staff.
  • Hold Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology or are eligible, actively participating in the certification process, and are able to achieve Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology by the ABMS or the AOA within two (2) years of initial granting of Interventional Cardiology privileges.
  • Have experience and current competency in performing core cardiology and coronary and peripheral angiography procedures within the previous 2 years.
