    Salem Health is seeking an experienced advanced practice provider (APP) to join our General Surgery team. Our Surgeons perform more than 14,200 surgeries annually, two-thirds trauma/emergency general surgery and one third elective surgery. Our practice consists of 12 General Surgeons and 3 advanced practice providers who offer inpatient, outpatient, and OR services.


    Position Scope:

    • Work Schedule: Variable; No call
    • Shift Length: 10 hours
    • Shifts per year: 184
    • Base Salary: $135,000
    • Annual Group Incentive Bonus Program
    • $4,500 annual CME allowance + a generous education assistance program

    You may be a qualified PA candidate if you:

    • Are a graduate from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, e.g., CAHEA, CAAHEP.
    • Hold PA licensure through the Oregon Medical Board.
    • Have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and are certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Recent PA graduates may be granted privileges for up to 12 months while completing the examination and certification requirement.
    • Hold current DEA certification.


    Preference may be given to PA candidates who have at least one (1) year of experience as a surgical PA.


    You may be a qualified NP candidate if you:

    • Possess a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
    • Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
    • Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
    • Hold a current, unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
    • Hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body.
    • Hold DEA certification.
    • Have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.
    • Hold current American Heart Association ACLS certification.


    Preference may be given to NP candidates who have successfully completed a first assistant training program and are certified by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI), or have evidence of a comparable certification.
