    Salem Health Medical Group Palliative Care program is in its ninth year of practice and prides itself on being a true collaborative and interdisciplinary team. We are proud of the relationships we have developed, including strong support from the organization and a great community presence.


    Our team provides service for diverse medical diagnosis to our patient population, including: end stage liver and renal disease, congestive heart failure, oncology, etc. Our broad scope of service is a direct benefit from established partnerships with many specialties within our organization.


    The Medical Director of Palliative Care responsibilities include:

    • Provide inpatient consultative services along with administrative duties
    • Work to develop and grow the program
    • Oversight of the medical services of the program to ensure adequate and qualified staffing for clinical service/coverage needs
    • Monitor quality of care & services and assisting in the development & review of patient care policies
    • Work with a dedicated dyad business manager and additional dyad Clinical and Operations leadership support
    • Implement education for hospitalists and specialty providers
    • Represent palliative care on hospital committees


    The team:

    • The structure consists of Providers, Social workers and support staff
    • Access to chaplains and ethicist daily

    You may be a qualified candidate if you:

    • Are a graduate from an approved school of medicine.
    • Have achieved ABMS/AOA board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
    • Have at least two (2) years of hospital experience in Palliative Care within the past 3 years.
    • Hold current, unrestricted MD/DO Oregon medical license.
