    Description/Qualifications

    We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our established team in delivering exceptional care to patients in our NICU. The NICU utilizes a Family Integrated Care (FIC) model where parents are educated and encouraged to participate in the care of their baby, with support from the interdisciplinary care team. As active Vermont Oxford Network participants, we are dedicated to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research, as these elements are crucial to our culture of quality and safety.

     

    Position Scope:

    • Function as a resource for staff to promote evidence-based care for neonates and their families.
    • Participate in providing ongoing educational activities for those caring for neonates and their families.
    • Acts as a facilitator and role model for evidence/research-based nursing practice in the NICU.
    • Identifies areas in which research or further investigation would be valuable to neonatal outcomes.
    • Actively participates in the promotion and advancement of professional status of nursing.


    Salem Health Women & Children’s Services Division includes:

    • 10 bed Pediatric Unit which provides inpatient and outpatient services
    • 26 bed Mother Baby Unit
    • 19 bed Labor & Delivery Unit (12 labor and 7 antepartum beds) with 2 operating rooms
    • 27 bed level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

     

    Program Awards:

    • Achieved five year Baby-Friendly Hospital Designation
    • Awarded “best place in the Mid-Valley to have a baby” for six years running


    You may be a qualified candidate if you:

    • Possess a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
    • Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
    • Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
    • Hold a current, unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
    • Hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body.
    • Hold DEA certification.
    • Have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.
    • Hold current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
